TSA Officers Arrested at DFW Airport

Home / K&M BUSINESS Blogs / TSA Officers Arrested at DFW Airport

After an extensive investigation into allegations of parking passes being stolen at DFW Airport, a total of 21 Transportation Security Administration officers were arrested Tuesday as well as an employee of American Eagle. The undercover investigation began back in March when the Department of Public Safety received a tip that American Eagle reported at least 129 of its parking passes missing from its offices that are located inside Terminal B. During the investigation, it was said that the American Eagle worker was the one who actually stole the placards and decided that he/she would try and recruit the TSA workers to try and sell the parking passes to their co-workers, family, and friends for $100 each. The airport released a statement saying that the American Eagle worker is facing a Class C misdemeanor charge for theft. The TSA officer who is being accused of selling the parking passes is currently facing a felony charge for theft of service. Another one of the TSA officers is also facing the same charge along with multiple violations. The other 19 TSA officers will be charge with Class B misdemeanor charges of theft of service for not properly obtaining the passes. The arrests were not made in one day but over the course of the week and the investigation is still under way to make sure that everyone involved has been reprimanded. The American Eagle employee was let go from his/her position with the company and at least eight of the TSA officers have been suspended indefinitely without pay.
